Your access and authority as a user in Impact Inside is dependent on your role within a Project. If you have multiple Projects, for example, you may be a Project Manager in your first Project and a Program Member in your second Project.
User permissions for the app, Project settings, and other resources can be managed by assigning roles. Below, you will find descriptions of each role and their permissions.
Project Roles
Project Member
Project Members are the default role when inviting someone to join your team on Impact Inside. Project Members collaborate with team members, monitor progress, and contribute to overall project success. They possess expertise in the carbon market and project management. Project Members have read-only access within their assigned Projects and Programs, and associated Theories of Change.
This role is best for team members that are not participants or respondents but analyze data associated with a Project and its Programs, as well as reviewing Theories of Change.
Certified Partner
Certified Partner is a role best suited for channel partners of Impact Inside. Certified Partner focuses on enabling a technical service provider to work on multiple projects that they are assigned to. They have full edit rights to projects that they are assigned to so that they can leverage their expertise in carbon projects to improve their customers' projects. This role can create programs, as well as invite new members, and manage their roles.
Project Manager
Project Managers are responsible for overseeing a specific carbon project, ensuring that objectives are met, resources are allocated effectively, and stakeholders are engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
This role is best for employees within your organization who need full access to manage Projects and their team members.
Program Roles
Program Member
Program Members are the default role when assigning a Program to a member or stakeholder on Impact Inside. These individuals are responsible for providing specific information or completing assigned tasks related to data collection or surveys within the project framework.
Field Agent
Field Agents are representatives who conduct fieldwork, gather data from Program Members and interact with local communities, and report on project progress and environmental conditions directly from the project site using the Impact Inside mobile application. Similar to a Project Member, they have read-only access within their assigned Projects.
This role is only available to the Optimizer and Storyteller licenses.
Site Manager
Site Managers are responsible for on-the-ground operations at the project site, including overseeing daily activities, coordinating with field agents, and ensuring compliance with project standards and regulations.
This role is only available to the Optimizer and Storyteller licenses.
Program Manager
Program Managers oversee a collection of related programs within a broader project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and facilitating resource sharing and coordination among multiple programs that fall under a project.
